Arman Centre Georges Pompidou (22 Sep. 2010 – 10 Jan. 2011). With Chris Boïcos.
 Thursday 7 October 11:30 noon -12 noon.

Arman (1928-2005) is one of the founding members of the most famous and controversial French avant garde movement of the 1960’s, the Nouveaux Réalistes (including Yves Klein, Tinguely, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Christo and César), France’s answer to British and American Pop Art. This a major retrospective in which all his famous cycles and “techniques” are presented: the poubelles (garbage in Plexiglas boxes), the colères (objects like a grand piano destroyed by the artist), the combustions (objects like a Louis XV armchair burned by the artist), the accumulations (objects like gas masks or bullets piled up and glued together) and his later more academic bronzes cast from sectioned objects like cellos. A wonderful opportunity to discover one of the most colorful and eccentric French artists of the rebellious ‘60’s.
